| Notes: | Jul 15, 08 - MARCUS AURELIUS was adopted by Antoninus Pius. He spent most of his reign leading his armies in battle. After the eastern campaign his men brought back a virulent plague that spread through the whole Empire. He launched a severe persecution against the Christians. Unfortunately, Marcus Aurelius no sooner put down a revolt or repelled a barbarian invasion before another would break out. He died at 60 due to sickness.
