About this seller
Notes:Aug 3, 08 - VALENTINIAN - Chosen by the army in 364 AD to be the new emperor. He was a barbarian of Pannonia and of common ancestry, but he proved himself worthy. Valentinian chose to rule the western region of the empire and appointed his brother, Valens, to rule the eastern areas. He insisted on equal treatment for all religions. His reign was generally just and moderate although he was merciless toward opposition. A fit of rage caused an apoplexy that killed him.
